Habitat
We can state without a shadow of a doubt that the core nucleus of the population of this subspecies of Spanish ibex is found in the Tortosa- Beceite Mountains National Game Reserve, lying with three provinces, mainly in Tarragona.
Over the years, thanks to the selective type of hunting of this species, this nucleus has spread outwards in almost every direction, which has given rise to the creation of big game private hunting reserves adjacent to the National Reserve, where the Spanish ibex can be hunted, in the districts of Terra Alta in Tarragona, Alto Maestrazgo in Teruel and Els Ports and Baix Maestrat in Castellón.
