The reason for hunting them is to cull, reduce their density and try to equate it to that of the males 1:1.
Normally older females that are no longer suitable for breeding will be targeted.
This usually makes up 50% of the hunting licences for each reserve.
The antlers will measure between 12 and 20 cm, and their weight will be between 20 and 30 kg.
The best time for hunting them will be October and the beginning of November.
